Wednesday 4th April 2007!
I Sleep late; Wake up to Italian coffee and Toast with Peach jam. Get in touch with the world and get warm.
The mistral is blowing and its just about freezing. So off we go to kite. Is my first session at Plage Napoleon, and im super scared. Off shore 25- 30 knots. 10m Raven and Speed board! 33.4 knots max speed. I know its slow but I was just getting used to pelting down a speedstrip with waves and being bareley able to move due to a partly frozen body. As you are kiting along you can feel the water on your cheeks becoming like a thin layer of glass, maybe thats just my imagination but after 5min I couldn’t feel anything,. Grey sky. Grey water. Grey Waves. Grey city. Grey skin. It was pretty darn grey and I wouldn’t rate it the best session in the world.
afterwards after getting into some clothes and seriously turning up frenchi’s car heater I felt strangely accomplished. I did it ! yeah man!
Frenchi’s mom makes killer food, when I got home I jumped in the shower and a had a Blanquette! No this is not a blanket, event though I wanted a blanket, Blanquette is a veal ,mushroom carrtots and creamy white sauce dish served with rice… yumm! Internal heating.yay! this was followed by a quick nap as in French tradition!
The rest of the day was spent reading, talking on skype , putting together my new speed board and trying to learn more French! Great!
