Woke up early today ! Last time i was in leucate olaf had gotten fresh chocolate croissants every morning ! So i had to relive that memory and was outside the bakery by 7 :15. I got one , i twas amazing, i twas warm, fresh and the chocolate stil runny ! so i twas another good day for xperience but not for wind ! my heart actually did a little depression flutter as i thought of facing another day of people with wind withdrawal symptoms .
i took a long walk on the boardwalk towards the atm at the other side of town, saw ruben and tom along the road, wished them a good morning and continued with my quest, arrived at the atm but it was out of order ! so i returned.
Went to have a cup of coffee at the event tent and the 3 dutch dudes were there already, busy hassling the only gorgeous waitress. I joined their table and we continued our *** talking marathon from yesterday ! We then at 14 :30 went to have lunch at cafe le Memphis, the best chow place for sure, we returned to our seats at the event tent and continued our marathon !
it seemed like the movie groundhog day where all the days are the same its just up to you what you make of it… or something along those lines.. the prizegiving of nothing is happening at 17 :00 so we are just hanging around for that.. there are rumours of another night at el chupito and many other things .. il just have to wait and see what happens !

Prizegiving ! We all assembled at the stage… after age long speeches in french of wich i understood nothing they started with the prizegiving ! No real prizes for the naish speed party since nothing had happened due to no wind ! i twas quite sad. I Caught up with Alain Degent ! His hair is finally growing back after his dreadlocks were violently removed in a wild Walvis Bay party last year ! They called a few people up on stage ! they gave me a cool wooden windsurfer trophy for the competitor with the most motivation, since i travelled so far to get here and i was always ready to go ! Manu Taub and David Garrell got Trophy’s just for being legends of speed !
All good ! Prizegiving over. Anna & Leo were on their way to barcelona now, so i said goodbye to my new friends.. im sure ill see them again soon, somewhere along the line…. I returned to the flat and dropped my stuff off ! i read a couple of pages , and i had just reached an interesting part in my book ( the High Lord, Part 3 in the Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan.Rating : Best book ive read in ages) so i continued reading for a good 2 hours completely oblivious to everything else, i think i twas a bit of an anti-climax after days of being on standby the event was over for the Naish Speed Party ! So … it was like … what now ?? one day left in leucate before manu and i head to port saint louis….. ahh. I was a bit depressed.
Depression didnt last long Steve Allen ( the guys im sharing my lat with had invited the turkish guys over for dinner, i was just on my way out when they invited me to joint hem for diner, steve had cooked a killer pasta and the turks bought a good bottle of white wine so i stayed. No regrets there. Had a groovy conversation about world politics and crime, the zimbabwe situation, the turkish situation, partying in long street, crime in SA, Witchdoctors, etc etc… lets say it was well funny and interesting !
After dinner we cruised down to Le golf Bar, met up with the 3 dutch dudes ( windsurfers and Ruben lenten and Tom Herbert were also there ! Hada beer( sorry they insisted) and mr lenten and tom were off to a private function at a french kiteboarding house, didnt know the people, but agreed to go, seemed like a good idea. Arrived at the house, had a laugh and met more cool people. Played with toms hair. Made it like sumo indian style ! all good ! i like ! i like is the new phrase of the day veryone is walking around like idiots saying ‘I LIKE !’ Not my favorite saying to date i prefer « Rad » like in thats so RAD !!!! yeah i know it sounds corny but its Rad !
Lenten and i walked back to Le Golf when the rest of the crew went to get dinner, Outside le golf we met nic and other ruben.. from there we proceeded to the Blue Cafe, We spent about 3 hours playing in teams .Len10 & i against Nic and other ruben. Pool , ice hockey & foosball ! Hell yeah ! it was more or less a tie in the end. Looking back this night really made my time in leucate, just some good clean fun and a night of good conversation ! really also enjoyed listening and learning form the dutchies ! Dutch is probably the craziest language in the world i can say i laughed myself into a fit a couple of times ! All good ! thats it ! Another day and night gone !
